Technical Solutions for Sports Apparel

Three brands for which I have applied technical solutions to classic problems humans encounter in sport and life.

The big soccer brands were ignoring the goalkeeper’s protective gear. It was still in the 80’s with “couch cushion” foam floating somewhere in the vicinity of the elbows and the knee pads flopping around down there somewhere. Field players were no better off, and with the increase in turf fields came turf burn and related injuries. Storelli was created to fill the void, and bring soccer the level of protection it deserved.

Neat

It began with a patent pending concept for a product when the team at Storelli took it on as a project. After securing the full patent in multiple countries, we created an answer to the issue of showing embarrassing sweat stains in public situations. The solution is built into the fabric and has the ability to absorb sweat to keep the wearer comfortable while hiding any sweat marks from showing. The challenge was to do this while maintaining the look and feel of a classic t-shirt.

The number one piece of technical apparel the Storelli sports product department has been asked for over the years is a better sports bra. After years of testing and iterations, it was ready to be its own company. The Brilly bra is soon to be launched. It fulfills a much needed solution for the level of support needed for serious sport. It does this while still maintaining comfort and without compromising range of motion or muscle movement.
